Donna Rae Prepejchal is running for Lisle Township Trustee with other concerned Democrats on the Vote Lisle Twp Dems slate in the February 25th, 2025 Primary.  Lisle Township has been her home since she got married in 1976.  She is retired now but has been employed in a variety of endeavors using her interpersonal skills, ability to plan ahead, and ability to work out the details.  As the Resource Specialist at NAMI DuPage, she compiled a directory so her colleagues could also make referrals.  Whether it was a sales position at Republic Steel, paralegal work, or teaching English as a Second Language, she brought people together to achieve the mission.

Donna was born in Wisconsin and grew up in Chicago.  The family’s first apartment was on the third floor of an old building near DePaul University, plagued by rats and roaches.  Donna’s mother courageously wrote to the Health Department when the landlord did not fix the plumbing.  For that, the family was evicted.  Her parents bought a house on the prestigious Logan Blvd a few years later.  Donna says that taught her two things.  First, when things go wrong, all is not lost.  More importantly, when something is not right, she needs to speak up.

Donna became involved in the Woodridge community as her children entered school.  She was often a volunteer at Sipley School.  Donna gave tours to school groups at the Morton Arboretum for 5 years.  She was President of her local League of Women Voters from 1989 to 1991. She has been active in LTDO since 1992 and was the Democratic Candidate for Township Clerk in 1993.  Throughout the years, she has helped countless candidates in her role as a PC by gathering signatures and spreading the candidate’s messages.   More recently, she has felt the need to speak up again for what is right because the Lisle Township Board has lost its way.  Her daughter made a shirt for her with “actions speak louder…” written on the back, and Donna is on the ballot for Township Trustee.

Donna Rae Prepejchal pledges to bring civility to Township meetings and listen to what others say.  Her philosophy is to build on our strengths and make the most of what we already have.  She believes that the future of democracy depends on the strength of local communities.  Working on nonpartisan initiatives such as establishing the Township 708 Mental Health Board, protecting our water, and numerous school board referenda throughout the years have prepared her for her role as a Township Trustee.
