Robert Sacks is running for the office of Lisle Township Clerk with the goal of modernizing the system and to do so with accuracy, transparency, and efficiency. The Clerk serves a vital function as the official record keeper for the Township, and the taxpayers deserve a person who will fulfill the duties of the office rather than settling for the bare minimum.
As the parent of two adult sons on the autism spectrum, Sacks brings a deep understanding of the need for community support. As the elected Clerk, he will advocate for vulnerable communities, including the elderly, the disabled, and the employment/food insecure. His background in public finance as a municipal bond analyst for two major financial firms, as a Treasurer for political committees and non-profits, and as a small business owner has prepared him well for this position.
Sacks’ interest in local government dates all the way back to his youth when he performed data entry for his father, a state and local economics professor, and consultant, who was among the first in his field to utilize computer technology to perform statistical analysis. Modernization of the Township Clerk’s office will require a person comfortable with electronic record-keeping, something he is immersed in through his treasury work, as well as being the keeper of his family’s business records.
Robert Sacks is a lifelong Democrat and has lived in the Township for over 37 years. He volunteers regularly for Community Access Naperville, a 501c3 established to provide day programming for individuals with Intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). In addition to his work in the financial and political realms, he is active as a private studio music teacher and performer.
